I am feeling like there is a general trend towards "deplatforming" which means:
Taking back ownership of our online data and identities (to an extent)
Less reliance on software tools made by Big Tech. Going back to things like plain text, moving towards privacy-focused services like DuckDuckGo, FastMail.
A general swing back towards the ideals of Web 1.0 when the internet was free, open, and diverse and "weird".
